It's Back Awareness Week from 7 - 10 October 2021

In recognition of the importance of back health and posture, Unique Health reached out to its preferred physiotherapists, Hector, Naidoo & Associates, for some good tips on how people can reduce injury and prolong full back capabilities.

Here's what they told us:

Tip #1: How To Lift Heavy Objects

Bend your hips and knees to squat down to your load, keep it close to your body, and straighten your legs to lift. Keep a wide base of support. Your feet should be shoulder-width apart, with one foot slightly ahead of the other.

Warning!

Never lift a heavy object above shoulder level. Avoid turning or twisting your body while lifting or holding a heavy object.

Tip #2: How To Sit At A Desk

Proper sitting posture at the computer is important for your back and health. There are a few simple guidelines that you can follow to have a correct computer posture:
